To Lead the Continual Enhancement of North Hollywood as a Flourishing and Trendsetting Center for Arts, Culture and Commerce.

Home

North Hollywood, located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, makes up the north-western region of the City of Los Angeles. The area has deep historical roots in native and colonial history, from the Tataviam Indians that inhabited the area to the Mission San Fernando Rey de España which owned most of the land in the San Fernando Valley.

Until the 1990’s, North Hollywood suffered from many of the typical problems of rapidly growing areas including increased crime and poor housing conditions. However, by 1992 a neighborhood coalition of business and theatre owners formed the NoHo Arts District to promote the areas art scene. The district underwent a major facelift with façade, street, and lighting improvements, which have led to increased safety.

Today, North Hollywood is undergoing a dramatic transformation. The area is flooding with investment rapidly turning this area into an important regional center. Important transportation hubs such as the Orange Line and the Metro Subway line keep North Hollywood interacting with the rest of Los Angeles. Furthermore, the area has become a focus for a variety of businesses, especially those that cater to the vibrant art scene.

North Hollywood caters to the needs of people from different backgrounds. Large scale, mixed-used projects, such as the NoHo Commons, provide affordable and market priced units. The proximity of schools makes this area family friendly. However, there is a constant flow of people through the area who come for work, entertainment, or food ensuring a diverse and eclectic population base. There are plenty of things to do, to see, and plenty of new people to meet.
